My name is Maneka and God placed the vision of ALOF on my heart many years ago, before Zack and I ever got married. We have now been married 8 years and have two beautiful horse obsessed babies, Ella Jade and Kaden. 

Many people have asked about our name, A Leap Of Faith Equestrian Center. When I was in college majoring in Equine Management and Training I had a fabulous teacher and mentor have us sit down, close our eyes, and think about our future business plans. Part of the assignment was to name our business. I prayed for God to show me His plan for my future business. He showed me a big powerful horse jumping off the side of a giant mountain. I was unable to see where the horse was going to land but I knew the horse was on a mission and he landed safely. God spoke to my heart and said “Your business is going to be A Leap Of Faith.” 

Skip forward to 2018, Zack and I had just purchased our first house and welcomed our baby girl into the world. I had a job with a consistent pay check but I wasn’t happy and Ella Jade was struggling with the transition of me going back to work. God spoke to Zack and told him it was time for my dream to come true. I was terrified to let go of the steady income with a new house payment and baby. But God assured me it was time to take that ‘leap of faith’. 

I opened up in July of 2018 and business grew faster than I could imagine. The little 5 acres that we thought would last us at least five years was outgrown in less than 2. We began searching for a bigger farm. God completely opened the door for us to move to our 40 acre farm in Vinemont. Of course that move included another ‘leap of faith’ but the door was open and we couldn’t be happier to be in our new facility. At this point, not only do I get to give lessons and be home with my babies but Zack is now able to also work for ALOF and be home with the babies, too! 

Over the years I’ve also been blessed to obtain certifications in CHA (Certified Horsemanship Association) for both English and Western and certifications for EAP (Equine Assisted Psychotherapy) and EAL (Equine Assisted Learning), as well.
